Whenever you think of purchasing cutlery sets, first of all be clear what you need from it. You will see a huge collection of cutlery in the market for different purposes. You must be specific about the usage you want it for and choose accordingly.

Configurations of cutlery sets

They are available in a variety of configurations. Among them, four people and eight people are sold the most. But you will also get the larger sets for 12 persons or more. In the majority of the sets you will get a five-piece place setting which includes teaspoon, tablespoon, table knife, salad fork and dinner fork. And the accessory set that you use while serving at the dinner table are sugar spoon, butter knife, serving spoon, serving tray and bowls.

The sets that are made for the kitchen use kitchen knives, butcher steel and a wooden block to be used as base while cutting the meat, vegetables, and fruits.

In some sets the kitchen set and the dinner set are combined whereas you may buy them separately too. The wooden block is not included generally. In that case you need to buy that individually.

Some manufacturers also include several commonly used knives in the exclusive sets, like the bread knife, paring knife, utility knife.

Material

Stainless steel and high carbon steel are the commonly used material for table cutlery. If you are ready to invest a large amount for a premium set, you can buy a silver cutlery set.
